Dear Monitor readers:
We’ve offered The Monitor Online free to all since it launched in August. Now, we’re going to limit access to paying customers. Subscribers to the print newspaper can enjoy the site at no extra cost. But you do have to register first. Here’s how:
First, look to the top-right of this page. You’ll see the words, “Sign Up.” Click on that.
On the next screen, you’ll be presented with several fields to fill in. Choose a username for your account, enter an email address and password. You will receive a validation email sent to the email you entered. Follow the link to validate your email.
In the “Last Name” field, type in your last name, exactly as it appears on the label. If your paper is mailed to a business, type in the business name as it appears on the label. This is case-sensitive, so be sure to capitalize the name if that’s how it appears on the label. In the “Address” field, type your street address or PO Box — again, exactly as it appears on the label. Please match any abbreviations and punctuation, and make sure the case is the same as on the label.
As an example, here's a version of my mailing label with the last name and address fields circled.
And that’s it! You’ll have access to the website for as long as you keep your print subscription.
Let us know if you have any problems or questions. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call our office at 225-3821.
And tell us what you think of the website. We’re always looking for ways to make it more relevant and interesting, and to better serve the people of Jefferson County.
