Fireworks—some launched by firefighters atop Boulder's Capital Hill, some by residents around town—burst over Boulder shortly after dusk on July 4. Starting in the afternoon, a slow trickle of fireworks launched by residents across Boulder gradually increased by sundown into a town-wide aerial display celebrating Independence Day. Explosions continued late into the night, well beyond the official fireworks show that began around 10:10 p.m. on Capital Hill.
